She emphasizes the importance of self-care, acknowledging that caregiving can be physically and emotionally demanding. “Caregivers should remember to take care of themselves, rest when needed, and make the most of their days off to sleep 8-10 hours,” she advises. She also encourages caregivers to build a support network of friends and colleagues to help navigate the challenges of the role, especially for those working live-in shifts far from their families.
