Caregivers Are Here for You during COVID-19
Now more than ever, people are needing care. Due to protocols surrounding COVID-19, many people no longer have access to their usual care resources. Services might be on hold or sites for receiving care might be closed. People who were available for support may now have to maintain social distancing or follow shelter in place measures. However, COVID-19 restrictions do not need to prevent people from receiving caregiving services — as Essential Workers, in-home caregivers are still available and can come directly to your home.
Preventing the spread of COVID-19 starts with education. It also starts with taking care of yourself and getting the help you need in order to support your overall well-being. This is why caregivers are classified as Essential Workers. The services you need may range from help with childcare to light housekeeping to more serious services such as dementia care. The caregivers at Alegre Home Care are trained to provide a variety of in-home care services and create personalized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
Caregivers Are Essential Workers
As Essential Workers, our caregivers remain committed to helping people remain safely at home. Alegre Home Care agency is staying in close contact with all caregivers and clients who may be affected during this time. In-home caregivers have a special role providing essential services to seniors, people with disabilities, and children as their one-to-one care providers. Home care services carry many benefits for people who want to recover from an illness, manage their disability, or age in the comfort of familiar surroundings.
Caregiving is a strenuous and difficult undertaking that requires more time and expertise than most people are aware. In-home care services often go far beyond the scope of helping with basic daily tasks. Caregivers from reputable in-home care agencies, such as Alegre Home Care, receive specialized training and have experience with a variety of medical conditions.
Caregivers are Trained to Provide Services Safely
In-home caregivers might be the first line of defense for the people in their care. If any symptoms are noticed, a doctor should be seen immediately. Caregivers can take extra precautions to prevent contracting the disease themselves, which will also help prevent caregivers from passing it on to the people in their care. All Alegre Home Care employees are certified in a nationally recognized training program to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID 19.
We take every precaution to keep our clients and caregivers safe. Alegre Home Care continues to observe the CDC’s recommendations on disease prevention, hand washing and cleaning protocols, as well as providing guidance on managing staff members who are displaying flu-like symptoms.
All Alegre Home Care employees are screened everyday and for every shift for health symptoms of COVID 19, including a daily temperature check. Each caregiver arrives wearing a non-medical face covering or disposal surgical/procedure mask. Caregivers wash their hands upon arrival, frequently throughout the day, and after tasks are performed. Caregivers also wear gloves and a face mask while performing personal care. As appropriate, caregivers maintain social distancing in the home.
Do You Need In-Home Care Services?
One of the main benefits of in-home care is that it can be tailored to the specific needs of each individual person. This means that some people may need memory care while others may need care for children with special needs. In-home care services are particularly essential during times of crisis because caregivers understand the ways in which their clients will be affected and can adjust care plans accordingly.
Alegre Home Care services include:
General In-Home Care. Receive help with daily tasks, chores, errands, medication reminders, range of motion exercises, appointments, meal preparation, and more.
Dementia Care. Clients are provided with a patient and compassionate caregiving staff, who undergo specialized Alzheimer’s and dementia care training on an ongoing basis. We understand the stages of memory loss and design dementia care programs and activities to address every stage, allowing the individual to experience the best quality of life possible.
Injury Recovery. Preparing for or recovering from surgery, injury, or illness may be a time when temporary help is needed. Injury recovery caregivers are trained to handle housekeeping, cooking, and other routine tasks, so you can put all your energy towards healing.
In-Home Childcare. Our caregivers bring safety and security to families and individuals, allowing people to keep their regular routine, knowing their child is safe with an experienced child care provider.
LGBT Senior Care. LGBTQ seniors often have unique needs and health disparities that require extra attention and care. As the only LGBT-certified home care agency in California, Alegre Home Care understands these needs well. Our home care agency is in a unique position to provide the best quality LGBT senior care.
Customized Care. There are many reasons why people need in-home care services and not all of them are specific to seniors. Each person has their own set of medical conditions, physical disabilities, or personal needs. Our caregivers are available to accommodate the type of care you need.
